From April 20-26, Here to Serve Restaurants will hold its first Oyster Fest, offering oysters specials in its 12 restaurants throughout the Atlanta area. The oyster-centric celebration will culminate with an all-day event at Coast Seafood and Raw Bar on April 26. Held from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 26, the Oyster Fest at Coast Seafood and Raw Bar will feature Executive Chef Quentin Donnaud’s roasted oysters – easy shuck-your-own oysters and already shucked oysters - along with live music, cornhole games and other festivities on its large patio in the heart of Buckhead. Inaugural Event Mixes Live Music, Great Food, Margarita Championship and More at Atlantic Station
Get ready to sample some of the city’s finest margaritas and the world’s best tequilas at the Atlanta Margarita Festival. Coming June 19 and 20 to Atlantic Station, this inaugural event promises to stir things up with two days devoted to food, tequila, music and more in honor of America’s favorite tequila-based concoction. The event will include a chance to vote on Atlanta's best margarita.
“Some of the best-tasting margaritas in the world are served right here in our city,” says Jeffrey Langfelder, event founder. “We are confident that the Atlanta Margarita Festival will become an annual event showcasing an array of tequilas and the talents of Atlanta mixologists - professional and amateur alike.”
A portion of the net proceeds from this event will benefit Camp Twin Lakes camper scholarships. “Everyone loves a great festival,” says Eric Robbins, executive director of Camp Twin Lakes. “You can have a fantastic time while also helping to support children who are coping with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges. We are thrilled to be partnered with the Atlanta Margarita Festival for this celebration.”
The Atlanta Margarita Festival gets underway Friday, June 19, with a limited-admission Tequila 101 educational seminar from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Learn the origins and history of tequila, as well as, how to taste and smell various tequilas during a private sampling of four different types of tequila with a premium brand.
That same evening from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at Taste of Tequila, guests will be able to sample more than 75 premium tequilas and mezcals and savor gourmet appetizers from top Atlanta restaurants while “Mad Violinist” Ashanti Floyd performs. Taste of Tequila will also feature a special silent auction, featuring such items as a trip for two to Jalisco, Mexico, to tour a number of different tequila producers, and an in-home gourmet tequila dinner catered by a top Atlanta restaurant. All auction proceeds benefit Camp Twin Lakes.
On Saturday, June 20, from 1-5 p.m., the Margarita Grand Championship offers the chance to taste and judge over 30 delicious margaritas at the South’s largest margarita contest. This competition is open to anyone, from local restaurants to amateur home mixologists, who will complete for cash prizes and the right to be crowned “Best Margarita in Atlanta” by a panel of celebrity judges. Admission to this event allows guests to sample all of the competing margaritas and vote which concoction wins the People’s Choice Award. For those not in a voting mood, the Margarita Fest will also be taking place on Saturday just outside the main tent area of the festival. Guests can enjoy a diverse array of live music from 1-6 p.m., as well as a variety of Mexican and traditional festival foods, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and, of course, many different flavors of margaritas.
