Blackberry Beer Smash

Yield: 1 drink

2 ounces Few Barrel Gin
1 ounce lemon juice
1 ounce Mint Syrup (recipe included)
3 blackberries, plus more for garnish
3 ounces wheat ale (choose something tart: Prairie Weiss,
Orpheus Atalanta or Creature Comforts Athena)

Combine all ingredients except beer in Boston shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and double strain to remove blackberry seeds into Collins glass filled with ice. Top with beer and garnish with blackberries.

Mint Syrup
2 cups sugar
3 cups fresh mint leaves with stems discarded

For the Mint Syrup
Place sugar and 2 cups water in small saucepan and bring to a boil. Once sugar has dissolved, add mint. Continue to boil for 5 minutes before reducing heat to a simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Strain out mint. Cool and store in refrigerator until needed. Can be stored for 14 days.
